Accounts Payable Supervisor

Summary Description:

This position will provide leadership and guidance to professional or skilled technical employees within the Accounts Payable team at Applied Corporate. This role will be working on the US accounts payables team which is very high volume, receiving more than 5,000 invoices daily. This position will oversee payments for both resale and non-resale vendors. This role oversees the work of ten direct reports, the majority based in Cleveland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides day to day leadership and guidance to team members, including overseeing the processing of invoices and payments, ensuring compliance with company policy, employee development and training of team members, managing team performance, and work distribution considering employee vacations, breaks, and overall workload of the team.
• Collaborates with the other Accounts Payable Supervisors and Manager to develop the team members, set departmental goals, continuous improvement of processes and procedures, and provide service to suppliers and operations teams within the company.
• Resolves escalated issues with vendors/suppliers and counsels team members on effective resolution
• Reviews and supports the reconciliation of the intercompany payables between subsidiaries of Applied Industrial
• Oversees the efficient processing of non-resale invoices including HR payments, taxes, fixed assets, and various location overhead costs.
• Interviews prospective team members and chooses the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job.
• Prepares and delivers performance evaluations for team members.

Required:

• Must have Accounts Payable experience
• Bachelor's degree in equivalent field preferred
• Experience in a shared services/centralized services environment
• Experience supervising or leading people
• Exercises sound business judgment in resolving issues and communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Preferred:

• 5 years of Accounts Payable experience
• Experience using Microsoft Suite products and SAP software
