Department Information
Intercultural Student Programs (ISP) provide an institutionalized approach to meeting the co-curricular needs of students by coordinating and planning educational opportunities to enhance interaction and learning across groups. ISP assists the campus in understanding, appreciating, and celebrating Tech's rich cultural communities of belonging.

Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Resource Center will support the educational, social and cultural enrichment of all students. They will collaborate with campus partners to design, plan, and execute innovative programs and services for students. A key component of this position will be aimed at facilitating student belonging, community, and well-being with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the public by leveraging culture, history, arts, sciences, and other fields of scholarship and inquiry as it relates to multiple identities. The Assistant Director of Resource Center will support the overall mission of the Division and will assist with goal setting, program evaluation and assessment. This position will interact on a regular basis with students, staff and faculty
This position typically will advise and counsel students, staff and faculty.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Assist with the planning and implementation of signature programs in the department.

Job Duty 2 -
Recruit, onboard, and supervise student employees while training them in high impact programs and practices.

Job Duty 3 -
Advise and support student organizations aligned with the department's mission, offering guidance on establishment, member recruitment, retention, fundraising, program planning, and leadership development.

Job Duty 4 -
Work with Director to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, including alumni, community partners, local agencies, and civic organizations.

Job Duty 5 -
Assist department leadership with the budget to include planning, record-keeping, purchasing, and contract execution.

Job Duty 6 -
Assist the department in assessing outcomes, evaluating impact, and collecting data on departmental efforts, programs, services, and initiatives.

Job Duty 7 -
Assist in the development and execution of initiatives that integrate an intercultural framework for facilitated workshops, cultural programming, innovative technologies, and other educational opportunities.

Job Duty 8 -
Assume leadership role in the absence of the Director, requiring a level of autonomy and exercising sound decision-making skills. Promote a culture of belonging, community, and well-being within the Unit, in the campus community at large.

Job Duty 9 -
Assist with content creation and distribution of marketing materials in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Graduate Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, or other related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Three to four years of job-related experience

Experience in higher education with experience in or collaboration with Student Affairs strongly preferred

  • Reporting to the Director of Intercultural Student Programs, this position will support the educational, social and cultural enrichment of Asian American and/or Pacific Islander (AAPI) identifying students.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with campus partners to design, plan, and execute innovative programs and services for AAPI students.
  • A key component of this position will be aimed at facilitating student belonging, community, and well-being with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and public byleveraging culture, history, arts, sciences, and other fields of scholarship and inquiry as it relates to AAPI identities.
  • This job requires a working knowledge of the issues facing the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in higher education and a thorough understanding of how to coordinate programs using an intercultural framework.
  • Prefer candidate to have work or volunteer experience with an emphasis on Asian American and Pacific Islander college students.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

o Requires demonstrated experience working with diverse populations
o Preferred skills include knowledge of student development theory, program assessment, and

advocacy and support

KNOWLEDGE
o Work or volunteer experience with an emphasis on college students with multiple identities
o This job requires a working knowledge of the issues facing a diverse population of students in
higher education and a thorough understanding of how to coordinate programs using an
intercultural framework

SKILLS
o Experience with Workday, Excel, Baselines, Engage
o Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent written communication skills, and
proficiency in facilitating workshops and/or presenting to a wide range of audiences
o Strong organizational and administrative skills, sound-decision-making, judgement, customer
service experience, solid interpersonal communication, and strong written and verbal
communication. Use of office related computer applications is required

Other Information

Salary range: $65,000.00- $69,680.00 (commensurate with experience)

Location: On-site (Atlanta, GA), hybrid eligibility after successful probation period
