Job Summary

Support the Zwicky Transients Facility (ZTF) project by helping run systematic experiments. This involves systematic filtering of the ZTF alert system, vetting these candidates daily, obtaining spectroscopic follow-up with P60/P200/Keck, reducing spectroscopic data, classifying the type of transient and updating the Fritz Marshal.

Essential Job Duties



  • Reduce and analyze spectroscopic data.
  • Develop a spectroscopic data reduction pipeline for NGPS.
  • Observe remotely with the Palomar 200-inch telescope.
  • Program in Python.


Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Astronomy, or Computer Science.
  • Fluent in Python programming.

Hiring Range

$18.50 - $25.00 Per Hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
