Physician-Spine Consultant/Physiatrist, Outpatient Clinic

MaineHealth Neurosurgery & Spine is seeking a Physiatrist (MD/DO) or an Osteopathic physician (DO) proficient in Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) for their well-established outpatient multispecialty Spine Center in Scarborough. The ideal candidate enhances our comprehensive model of care by offering Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) as an adjunctive treatment to non-surgical spinal conditions. Call is taken from home and amounts to approximately six weeks per year. The selected candidate will join 11 physiatrists, 12 surgeons, 3 anesthesiologists, and 3 physical therapists.

About the position:

  • Leading spine and neurosurgical practice in the state of Maine.
  • Clinical work includes consultations and ongoing management of spine conditions and musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Work alongside physiatrists, neurosurgeons, orthopedic spine surgeons, and anesthesiologists.
  • New 100,000ft2 medical building with on-site access to EMG, X-ray, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and MRI. Access colleagues in Neurology, Vascular surgery, and ENT in the same building.
  • Competitive compensation starting at $290K with additional productivity-based earning opportunity. Compensation package includes sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, CME expense reimbursement, and malpractice insurance.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Physiatry (Physiatry applicants).
  • Prior experience with the diagnosis and management of a variety of spine and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Experience with and desire to incorporate OMT when clinically appropriate.
