Under The Delegation And Supervision Of An Rn, Provides Clinical Support With Basic Nursing Care And Patient Monitoring For The General Welfare And Safety Of All Patients.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to provide direct care to patients under the direct
supervision of licensed personnel and according to their standards of practice. 1 1. Communicates to licensed personnel any changes noticed inn patients condition, or any problems with treatments or devices. 1 2. Assists with basic patient care including but not inclusive to AM and PM care , vital signs, toileting, I&O, feeding, activities of daily living, transport of patients throughout hospital, responds to call lights promptly and provides necessary assistance. Orients patients and families to the unit - sets up equipment in patient?s rooms to prepare for admissions. 1 3. 1 4. Maintains clean and orderly patient care, storage, pantry and utility areas. 2. Essential Functions ( continued) 2 1. Adheres to The Westerly Hospital policies and procedures 2 2. Adheres to the hospital exposure control plans/blood-borne and airborne pathogens Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department to provide quality patient care. 2 3. 2 4. Acts as a resource and role model Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to safety of the organization and specific job related hazards. 3 2. Qualifications
EDUCATION : High school graduate or equivalent EXPERIENCE : Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred. Previous behavioral health experience preferred SPECIAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals Knowledge of basic medical terminology a plus Basic computer knowledge is a plus Ability to move or lift patients and equipment LICENSURE: Current RI Nursing Assistant License Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire CPI training within 1 yr of employment
