Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Communications Co-Op for Dogfish Head is to develop and execute public relations efforts in support of all Dogfish Head hospitality locations including Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats, Chesapeake & Maine, the Milton Tasting Room & Kitchen, and the Dogfish INN, as well as the brand's Beer & Benevolence program.

The purpose of this role is to generate external interest in, and drive traffic to, our retail locations through compelling media relations strategies and tactics. This person also will assist on other publicity efforts for Dogfish Head and potentially with other Boston Beer local taprooms as needed.

Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for creation of execution of PR efforts for each retail location that supports the overall marketing strategy and programming calendar to reach audiences on a local, regional and national level
  • Manage day-to-day PR strategy and execution while acting as the liaison between key internal players including legal team, partners and agencies

    • Work alongside Social Media Coordinator, Marketing & Events Specialist and Beer & Benevolence team to coordinate efforts including timing of announcements, social media & email newsletter content, event listings, media interviews, etc.
    • Support PR for national brand releases when applicable and aligning with Communications Manager on local efforts

  • Coordinate communication of plans and programming into events calendars
  • Build media lists, draft press releases and pitches, execute media outreach and follow up, and contribute to coverage tracking and analysis
  • Trafficking press releases through key internal players and legal team
  • Manage all external PR inquiries and coordinate with local teams and/or best spokesperson
  • Handle all media inquiries for TV, film, social media, etc. working with legal for proper agreements


Engage with local & regional organizations including tourism boards, chambers of commerce, non-profits, etc. to build relationships, and stay top of mind

Required:



  • Interest and/or experience in communications, journalism, marketing or public relations.
  • Proven communication skills, including strong writing ability.
  • Creative thinking ability and outgoing disposition.
  • Highly organized, flexible, self-motivated, and able to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently or cross functionally through team collaboration.
