Principal Cloud Solutions Architect - Cloud Security Consulting & Technical Alliances

This individual will be part of the Cloud Security Consulting &Technical Alliances team and become the center of excellence for specific Cloud Security technology areas and associated Fortinet products/solutions. They will need to be comfortable in front of customers of all levels and be able to deliver paid consulting services and proof of concepts. Additionally, they will need to write application and automation code to integrate various products and solutions with cloud service provider (CSP)'s native services. Ideal candidates will have excellent knowledge of public cloud technologies, software development experience, network/application security expertise and support four main areas of responsibility:

1) Cloud Security Solution Expert



  • Assist customers with creating multi-cloud and hybrid cloud security blueprints with a focus on vendor-neutral and cloud-agnostic design and implementation best practices
  • Become an expert in Fortinet products within cloud solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive products and services
  • Respond to industry analyst inquiries and conduct demos



2) Cloud and DevOps Technical Alliance Lead



  • Research technology partners' APIs and technical documentation in order to determine integration opportunities.
  • Develop automation code to integrate with CSP products/services and work with Fortinet engineering team to incorporate POC code into various products.
  • Develop customer use cases based on an understanding of a cloud partner's technology, Fortinet technology and customer needs.
  • Architect and develop integrations with technology partners using cloud and Fortinet best practices.



2) Trusted Advisor



  • Attend customer meetings and provide expert opinion on cloud security design/architecture
  • Provide custom architecture and automation code, as per the requirements set by a given customer for their cloud deployments
  • Publish reference architectures for specific use cases
  • Help drive technical webinars and hands-on demo's



4) Evangelist



  • Publish public information, such as whitepapers and blogs around salient technology topics
  • Work with product, product marketing, marketing and customer success teams to bring technology partner solutions to market. This includes development, enablement and evangelism.
  • Draft architecture papers for in-depth analysis and reasoning for technology adoption
  • Continuous active networking within the industry to build relationships and awareness



Required Skills:



  • The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in roles such as SE, Consulting SE, Cloud Sales Engineer or Solution Architect in the Cloud, Networking, Infrastructure, and/or Cybersecurity industries
  • In depth knowledge and hands on experience with one or more of the following cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Working knowledge of Python, Java and/or other programming languages
  • Proficiency in modern software architecture using CI/CD, DevOps tools (Ansible / CloudFormation / Azure ARM), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevSecOps, Scalability, and API-first strategy
  • Experience with developing in Python, Java and Golang programming languages
  • Cloud certifications such as AWS Solution Architect and GCP Cloud Architect are desired
  • Experience with GitHub and Jira is a plus
  • Prior experience in designing and building applications using Container and serverless technologies is preferred
  • Experience in GenAI application development is highly desired
  • Excellent presentation and demo skills
  • Superior documentation and technical writing capabilities
  • Five or more years of experience with cloud solutions, virtual platforms, and software development
  • Proficiency in English languages is required
  • Comfortable in public speaking



Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Graduate Degree favorable

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Earnings for this position are expected to be $150,000 - $250,000 Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company's discretion
