We are seeking a casualResearch Technologistwho will assist the Division of Endocrinology.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests using techniques including cell culture, real-time PCR and Western blots.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments and keeps records for these activities.
  • Prepare solutions and reagents following standard laboratory formulas and procedures.
  • Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and grant proposals.
  • Analyze and interpret results, summarize, and report data to the principal investigator and other collaborators as well as present findings in laboratory meetings with a view toward further refinement of research goals with input from colleagues.
  • Use sterile techniques to avoid contaminating lab experiments.
  • Prepare, clean, sterilize, and maintain laboratory equipment, glassware, and instruments used in research experiments.
  • Use universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from biohazardous materials.
  • Comply with biohazard safety standards through proper handling of potentially hazardous chemical and biological agents in the workplace.

Special Skills/Knowledge

  • General knowledge in tissue culture techniques, RNA and protein preparations, Western blot and real-time PCR.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.
  • Some related post-undergraduate work experience preferred.


Preferred Qualifications
  • General knowledge in the preparation of solutions and reagents.

Starting Salary Range: $15.70 - $26.25 HRLY ($17.20 HRLY targeted; Commensurate with experience)
Employee group: Casual / On Call
Schedule: Monday - Friday 10- 15 hours
