Central City Concern is an innovative nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty, and addictions. We hire people who are skilled and passionate to meet our mission to end homelessness through outcome-based strategies that support personal and community transformation.

Salary: $68 -$96K

SUMMARY: The Safety Supervisor provides safety supervision and administrative support to Safety Liaison team members. The Supervisor has operational leadership responsibility for team performance and leading improvement projects. All these services will promote emotional well-being and safe work and housing environments.

The Safety Supervisor will work closely with the Director of Safety and Security to ensure oversight of daily on-site tasks and workflows. The supervisor will coordinate and collaborate with community partners and ensure the team delivers support and resources throughout CCC's facilities to de-escalate and manage escalated situations with clients and employees trauma-informedly.

Central City Concern (CCC) 's Risk Management, Safety, and Security department is committed to supporting the overall safety and security of employees, clients, residents, and visitors. The Safety Liaison will focus on the agency's overall safety and security to build relationships with staff and clients, assess safety and security questions and concerns, and respond appropriately.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Lead and participate in the development of the Safety Liaison program.
  • Work with staff and community partners to develop referral pathways and criteria.
  • Plan and facilitate regular staff meetings.
  • Provide feedback andcoaching to team members, supporting the quality of their work. Provide additional trainingto staff as needed to maintain program standards.
  • Identify and coordinate staff training needs.
  • Professionally communicate verbally and in writing at all levels to effectively share information.
  • Provide program data and reports as required.
  • Supervise and monitor all administrative responsibilities of staff.
  • Participate in compliance, quality assurance, and quality improvement activities as directed.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners and outside providers' patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediate reporting of any PHI breach of CCC or outside provider health records to the CCC Legal and Quality departments and the program administrator.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of de-escalation methods or the ability to be trained in de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to work in an unpredictable environment and maintain composure where people may be hostile or abusive.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time, and meet deadlines.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 3 years of experience within a related field such as safety, housing, healthcare, or social services operations and to include 1 year of progressively responsible experience in leadership.
  • Must be able to proficiently use the following computer programs: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Current CPR certification is required before starting.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Must possess a current driver's license, pass a DMV background check, and be designated an "acceptable" driver as outlined in Central City Concern's Fleet Safety Policy. Must pass an initial driver training and annual recertification training. Must maintain a minimum vehicle insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 personal auto liability coverage.
  • Employees must carry an agency cell phone for work use. Central City Concern will provide the cell phone.
  • Ability to adhere to Central City Concern's drug-free workplace, which encourages a safe, healthy, and productive work environment and strictly complies with the Drug-Free Work Place Act of 1988.An employee shall not, in the workplace, unlawfully manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess, or use a controlled substance or alcohol.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.
