Job Title: Lab Tech I Specialist

Work Location: On-Site, Cincinnati, Ohio

Work schedule: Mon - Friday, 8:30 am - 5 pm

This Lab Tech I Specialist performs dust explosion testing according to the federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Completes data analysis and reports to Sr. Chemist or higher for certification of data.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Accurately performs and documents all experiments and results for an expedient testing of samples from manufacturing locations.
• Maintains and cleans the test equipment and performs calibration procedures as required.
• Performs data analysis and reports results to Sr. Chemist or higher for certification.
• Performs procedures and documentation required by the Quality Management System.
• Manages, controls, and tracks all incoming test samples and materials for compliance with OSHA, NFPA, AStM, ATF, CFATS, and other regulations and codes.
• Maintains required certification for operation of equipment.
• Assigned to assist in the training following SOP and training guidelines based on safety record, operational expertise, experience and knowledge of equipment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma with 1 to 5 years lab experience, preferably analytical. Associates degree in chemical related field; Bachelors in non-chemical related field preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques, filtrations, pH, conductivity measurements.
• Must be able to read safety and experimental procedures and understand instructions to work safely.
• Must accurately record experiments in laboratory notebook and report results and able to statistically repeat results to ensure compliance.
