Overview Responsible for front and back office procedures to include scheduling appointments, checking-in and out patients. Responsibilities Assist patient as needed by scheduling patient appointments to ensure patients are properly assessed at the time of visit with correct information. Prepare patients charts in EMR Obtain patient vital signs, advising patients to help them in keeping up with blood pressure, temperature, height and weight. Assist physician with examinations. Schedule follow up visits making sure patients are aware of what the physicians next plan of treatment will be. Answer phone. Obtain insurance authorization. Clean instruments and exam rooms making sure area is sanitized. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Successful completion of a Medical assistant program (or equivalent military training) and active certification (CMA, CCMA, or RMA) is required or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire. Completion of BLS class and re-certify every 2 years. Location : Location US-VA-Norfolk |
