Engineering Student Worker - IDEAS Program

The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering has partnered with Boeing to create a unique work opportunity through the Industry Design Experience for Auburn Students ( IDEAS) Program. This program allows students to continue progressing toward their degree while gaining practical, real world job experience. We now have the opportunity to add select positions for full-time onsite work with Boeing in Huntsville.

Currently, the program is seeking multiple candidates to assist in structural analysis of SLS Core Stage propulsion delivery systems for cryogenic stages, to include liquid Oxygen and liquid Hydrogen environments supporting our ongoing contract with The Boeing Company.

The position will commence mid-May and is expected to last through the summer semester. During Summer 2025 the position will be 100% onsite at the Boeing facility in Huntsville, AL. The position could produce an additional semester that would take place in Auburn, AL for the Fall 2025 semester allowing the student to resume taking classes and work part time. The position is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Engineering design and documentation work in support of various projects for large defense contractor.

Ideal candidates would meet the following criteria:
- Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering majors.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Graduating in Fall 2025 or later.
- Are a US Citizen

And have completed one or more of the following courses:
- MECH 3120 Mechanics of Materials,
- ENGR 2070 Mechanics of Materials, or
- CIVL 3610 Structural Analysis.
