Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for the department of Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Postdoctoral Associate will conduct specialized cardiovascular research techniques and procedures with focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning platforms that will promote precision medicine and predict outcomes. The Post Doc will work collaboratively with other research scientists with the same interest and background.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Performs specialized research techniques and procedures related to phenotypic characterization of cardiovascular disease using available signal-based and imaging techniques.
- Compiles and analyzes data using machine learning techniques; yield appropriate conclusions and recommendations in support of further research, research publications, and grant applications.
- Assists in the establishment of performance standards, development of research protocols, and coordination of multiple research projects.
- Assists with the instruction and training of students, fellows, residents, and research assistants.in laboratory techniques/procedures specific to cardiovascular artificial intelligence and digital health.
- Assists in maintaining laboratory records and files.
- Assists the Principal Investigator with the preparation of grant applications.
- Works collaboratively and independently with laboratories and researchers within Rutgers.
- Attends and actively participate in both weekly and monthly group research meetings and discussions.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- The candidate must hold a PhD or MD degree.
- Must have relevant background in Biological/Biomedical Sciences or related Engineering field with a specific focus in cardiology, cardiovascular diseases, and cardiac imaging.
- Must have experience in clinical and/or basic research, data collection, analysis, and presentation.

- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data analysis and machine learning, such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
- Must have effective oral and written communication skills; and ability to understand and communicate in English to sufficiently perform the job duties.
- Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.
- Ability to follow all safety precautions in the laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience with libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or scikit-learn.
- Prior experience in mentoring or supervising junior researchers (e.g., graduate students or research assistants).
