Job Title: License Master Electrician / Licensed electrician

Location: Columbus Junction, IA 52738

Duration: Full-Time

Shift Schedule: Regular First Shift

Pay Rate: $52.55/Hour with Benefits

Note: This position offers a Sign on bonus for relocation purposes of $5,000

Summary:

  • This position expertise in troubleshooting, repair, and technical support for electrical controls, fluid power, and mechanical systems. By ensuring the proper function of critical machinery, this role helps minimize downtime and optimize productivity. Additionally, the position contributes to food safety and quality, aligning with our commitment to industry standards. With skills in PLC systems, electrical safety, and industrial controls, this role ensures we maintain the highest operational and safety standards while supporting the evolving technology needs of our production processes.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Perform all electrical functions, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Provide technical support for all phases of operation.
  • Be proficient in multiple skill clusters, covering: Electrical controls, Fluid power, Mechanical systems, Manufacturing processes
  • Electrical control panels, transformers, power distribution systems, motors, and motor control devices
  • Ensure safety standards for self and food safety.

Required Experience::

  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of industrial maintenance and electrical controls experience is required to ensure proficiency in troubleshooting, repair, and technical support.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required). Preferred: Associate degree in electronic technology or closely related technical field. Alternative: Combination of education and experience, including skilled trade programs, military training, etc.
  • Certification: A valid electrician's license, as required by state or local regulations, is essential to meet the regulatory and safety standards of the role.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in AC/DC circuits, industrial electrical systems, electrical safety processes (including lockout/tagout), and working knowledge of PLC systems and automation is critical to effectively maintain and troubleshoot advanced control systems.
  • Experience with Servo Motor and Drive Technologies: Knowledge of industrial motor drive systems, including AC/DC servo motors, variable frequency drives, and stepper systems, would enhance the ability to maintain and troubleshoot advanced motor control systems.
  • Microcomputer and Microprocessor Skills: A basic understanding of microcomputer operations and their interfacing with industrial systems would improve the ability to troubleshoot and optimize electronic devices and controls.
  • Electrical Project Management: Experience managing electrical projects, including writing project scopes and adhering to NEC standards, would be beneficial for overseeing electrical construction and ensuring compliance with the standards.
  • Special Skills: Skills in AC/DC circuits, industrial electrical systems, electrical safety, lockout/tagout procedures. Knowledge of electronic devices such as industrial semiconductors, solid-state drives, and control systems. PLC systems operation and data collection instrumentation experience. Skills in maintenance and repair of mechanical systems (bearings, gears, clutches, belts, seals). Ability to troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic/pneumatic systems. Electrical construction experience, project management skills for writing scopes, adhering to NEC Standards, and maintaining Standards. Background in instrumentation. Basic microcomputer skills for understanding operation and interfacing of microprocessors. Experience in PLC operation, including system configuration, programming, and troubleshooting. Skills in electronic motor drive technologies (servo-motors, encoders, tachometers, closed-loop systems, etc.).
  • Computer Skills: Competent in Windows-based software (Outlook, Excel, Word). Proficient in document organization, using templates, and creating simple queries. Must be or become proficient in SAP Plant Maintenance.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication with all levels, from hourly Team Members to management and government officials. High-level critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Travel: 1-5 trips per year outside the assigned location.

Certification:

  • Valid electrician's license as required by state or local regulations.
