About the Position
Members of the Behavior Support Team (BeST) provide short-term community-based intervention services throughout King County for families who have a child with development disabilities experiencing behavior challenges. Individualized behavior plans are developed using the Positive Behavior Support model, an evidence-informed practice incorporating principles from behavior therapy, family systems theory, and other counseling modalities. BeST enjoys an excellent reputation in the community for providing in-home support to families. Primary responsibilities include:

Conduct comprehensive Intake Assessment of youth and family's needs across all life domains and review/update as indicated.

Generate Treatment Plan and Crisis Plan with youth and family based on their individual needs.

Complete a Functional Behavior Assessment and develop a Positive Behavior Support Plan that is informed by the Functional Behavior Assessment.

Provide clinical services such as individual and family therapy as needed throughout the course of treatment.

All documentation to be in compliance with Navos guidelines, Developmental Disabilities Administration and King County contract requirements, Washington Administrative Code and the Revised Code of Washington.

Documentation timelines and assessment standards to be in compliance with BeST training manual guidelines

Make decisions regarding treatment planning, intervention and discharge planning from an informed clinical perspective that incorporates Positive Behavior Support and Best Practice Guidelines.

Interventions to take place in settings appropriate to youth and family such as, residence, school and community. Reliable insured vehicle required to attend multiple community based appointments.

Refer to and collaborate with Developmental Disabilities Administration Case Resource Manager, specialized agencies and/or community-based resources when clinically indicated.

Maintain client records in keeping with agency, county, contract and state guidelines.

Complete continuing education training as required by state regulations and all trainings required by Navos.

Attend weekly individual clinical supervision, weekly team meetings and required agency meetings.

Supports an agency wide implementation of trauma informed care.

Fosters healing, hopeful, honest and trusting relationships for consumers and employees; Values consumer voice, choice and self-advocacy.

Demonstrates a commitment to cultural competence.

Promotes a safe, calm and secure environment with supportive care and family-driven services that are trauma specific and promote recovery and wellness.

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Possess the knowledge, values, attitude and skills to create a trauma-informed, safe, trusting healing environment that respects the perspectives and experiences of the individuals, families, staff and communities we serve with safety and healing. Must be able to provide ongoing coordination of clinical services, service planning, resource identification and development, and advocacy as appropriate to assigned caseload. Must be able to provide such services with respect, tact, and sensitivity. Must be able to manage documentation requirements as set by agency and contracts.

Education and/or Experience
A Master's degree from an accredited university in mental health counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or other related field.

Experience working with youth with developmental disabilities is required.

A valid WSDL, a reliable vehicle and proof of car insurance. With this position a reliable car is required for home visits.

Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration or ability to obtain before first day of employment.

Position Summary

The Mental Health Professional is an exciting clinical opportunity responsible for counseling and case management service. In this role, you will maintain a patient caseload, providing intervention within established treatment guidelines, policies and procedures. The position offers you the ability to actively advocate on behalf of your patients.

Responsibilities

  • You will provide person-centered counseling, advocacy and case management for patients
  • You will develop treatment plans which clearly identify the patient's voice, treatment strategies, and specific outcome measures
  • You will meet agency documentation standards and authorization requirements of contracts
  • You will strategically tailor effective clinical/case management services to meeting diverse patient needs
  • You will contribute to the success of MultiCare expectations and core values, continuously learning, and performing other duties as needed or assigned

Requirements

  • Masters degree in a related field
  • A Mental Health Professional as defined within HB 1724:
  • An individual practicing within the mental health professional's statutory scope of practice who is:
  • (a) A psychiatrist, psychologist, physician assistant working with a supervising psychiatrist, psychiatric advanced registered nurse practitioner, psychiatric nurse, or social worker, as defined in this chapter and chapter 71.34 RCW;
  • (b) A mental health counselor, mental health counselor associate, marriage and family therapist, or marriage and family therapist associate, as defined in chapter 18.225 RCW; or
  • (c) A certified or licensed agency affiliated counselor, as defined in chapter 18.19 RCW;
  • Previous experience providing mental health counseling services preferred
  • Depending on assigned area, proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MultiCare Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state may be required

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $34.12 - $49.10 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
