POSITION TITLE: Groundhand
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:

ADB is a Nationwide full turnkey provider of technology infrastructure solutions including Wireline, Wireless, Technology, and Engineering. ADB is seeking a Groundhand to join our team. This position will assist aerial crews in various aspects of line maintenance, repair, and construction. ADB is known in the industry for our world class culture, work stability, career development opportunities, and best in class vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will be safety focused, customer and quality centric, with a strong work ethic and ALL IN attitude to achieve results.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Performs various aerial construction labor including but not limited to, preparing, and assembling various line apparatus, utilizing equipment to install ground rods and anchors, assisting in hoisting aerial poles, and operating various types of construction equipment
  • Keeps work areas clean and organized; always ensures job site cleanliness
  • Maintains proper inventory on vehicle based on work assignments daily
  • Safely use hand tools and equipment such as; wrenches, drills, ladders, lashers, chain saw etc.
  • Ensures job site safety and sets up safe perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers; flagging traffic when required
  • Heavy lifting will be required; must have the ability to lift and manipulate lasher and other cable placement equipment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership

WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including climbing, sitting, standing, walking, and driving
  • Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid, and/or rainy spring, summer, winter and fall weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
  • May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated
  • When working on site, will be required to wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and safety boots


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:



  • Entry level manual labor position: prior construction experience preferred but not required
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required


This positions starting pay is at $20/hour.
