8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Monday - Friday

This position may be eligible for a telework/flexible work schedule up to two days (16 hours ) per week once onboarding into position is complete and with supervisor approval.
Primary Purpose of Position
Support purchasing, receiving, account reconciliations, and human resource activities of the Department. Primarily working with faculty members who are PI's on grant funded projects. Coordinate the classroom schedule for classrooms located in the Smith Building.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

University Preferred Qualifications:

Graduation from high school, or completion of its equivalency, and three years of office/clerical work experience; or an equivalent combination of training/experience.
Essential Job Duties

  • The position requires a self-motivated and proactive individual capable of identifying inefficiencies and opportunities and acting on them.
  • Responsible for account management of grant funds to include reconciliations, procurement, receiving, personnel, etc.
  • Maintain accurate fund records and prepare reports to summarize all expenditures/funds available to pay for graduate teaching assistant appointments, lab/research supplies, travel, equipment purchases.
  • Balance internal accounting records against Banner.
  • Analyzing account codes for accuracy.
  • Interpret and recommend financial/personnel and/or budget policies for department chair.
  • Composing correspondence that is sent out to students, faculty, staff, and external contacts.
  • Reports to the department chair and provides support to the department administration, faculty and students.
  • Assumes other duties as needed and assigned.

Other Work Responsibilities
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

  • Graduation from high school and demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through four years of specialized office experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Banner or equivalent enterprise software applications is preferred.
  • Experience with Banner Student and/or Banner Finance is preferred.
  • Proficiency and demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office software & Google Workspace needed.
  • Experience with reconciling accounts and balancing budgets.
  • Knowledge and experience with student hiring processes including student appointments desired.
  • Strong customer service skills experience with students and faculty preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to details needed.
