LSSI is hiring afull-timeFoster Care Caseworker for both of our locations: Vienna and Marion.To provide foster care and/or adoption case management services to children and families under the supervision of the program director or supervisor.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide and coordinate a continuum of case management services on all levels of the child welfare system designed to achieve permanency for children within their family of origin, extended family, or a foster/adoptive family.
  • Perform tasks required in the written service plan.
  • Meet productivity requirements.
  • Complete and submit all necessary documentation.
  • Provide backup support for other workers as requested.
  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of training for foster/birth/adoptive parents and staff.

Position Qualifications:
In addition to a real passion for working with at-risk children and families, this opportunity requires:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related human services field (psychology, psychiatric nursing, psychiatry, gerontology, counseling, rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling, or human services.)
  • One year of child welfare experience or two years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • State licensing/certification as required by the state of Illinois and regulatory agencies, e.g. Department of Children and Family Services, Department of Mental Health, etc.
  • Respond in person to client emergencies 24-hours-a day, attend court, ACRs, staffing, and other purposes.
  • Capacity to understand, and empathize with the cultural, psychological, and practical needs of the clients that the agency serves.
  • Record of compliance with the law and clearance on Illinois CANTS
  • Valid Illinois driver's license, proof of automobile liability insurance Access to transportation for visits, and to transport clients to and from appointments.
