Position Summary

The Senior Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for partnering with physician and pharmacy informatics to support all care team members with core clinical and supporting processes such as mobility, scheduling, registration, and charging. The Senior Clinical Informatics Specialist analyzes, designs, implements, adopts, maintains, and optimizes clinical technologies in a variety of clinical settings across the continuum of care and serves as a liaison, translator between clinical, business stakeholders and information technology. In this role you will also mentor and advise the Clinical Informatics Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Leads medium-large sized clinical technology projects by managing interdisciplinary teams, tracking against milestones, reporting on status, and monitoring implementation
  • Provides leadership, technical expertise, guidance, and research for assigned projects and coordinates issues among stakeholders
  • Manages ongoing multidisciplinary optimization efforts
  • Analyzes and documents workflows and implications for design and build of clinical technologies
  • Maintains document repository for enterprise workflows and core processes
  • Identifies best practices, reduces unnecessary variation with similar clinical workflows and clinical technologies
  • Evaluates and analyzes issues and errors associated with the build and implementation in collaboration with IS analysts
  • Functions as Clinical Consultant for IS Technology training team to support development of the education and training needed to support the successful implementation and ongoing adoption of clinical technologies
  • Assists with systems strategy and roadmap planning with Clinical Informatics Leadership Team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
  • Current RN or Clinical License
  • Three years clinical experience in a patient care setting
  • Five years informatics, information services experiences at a large Independent Delivery Network with at least 2 of those years leading enterprise initiatives.
  • Informatics or Technology Certification, e.g. CAHIMS, CPHIMS, RN-BC preferred
  • Epic proficiency/accreditation/certification, e.g. ClinDoc, Orders, Grand Central, ASAP, Beacon, Ambulatory, MyChart preferred
  • Consideration may be given to candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $124,717.00 - $172,224.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
