Role: Analyst, Data II

Location: Columbia, SC (Partially onsite - typically Tuesday/Thursday but can vary depending on business needs
)

Duration: 12 months (possibility of extension)

A typical day


This candidate will mainly be running recurring reports that support the I/S business.

The topics range widely including people data, vendor, cost and budget, timekeeping, etc.

There will be some data entry and data cleaning involved.

They will work heavily with Excel and Access and some with Power BI.

will be part of process improvements and automation of reports as well.

About the team

Our team is a group of 8 analysts. 4 are focused on development of new data tools for I/S and the other 4 are focused on the day-to-day operations and recurring reporting.

We support all of I/S with data solutions for a wide variety of topics.

Our current focus is developing self-serve dashboards for I/S management in PowerBI that will replace a lot of the manual recurring reporting that we do so that the operations team can move more into analyzing the data and giving business insights rather than running reports.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Healthcare, or related field or 2 year degree in Computer Science, Business or related field and 2 years of reporting and data analysis work experience OR 4 years reporting and data analysis experience.

Required Work Experience

2 Years Research and analysis experience.

Preferred Work Experience

4 Years-Research and analysis experience.

Required Skills and Abilities

Strong organizational, customer service, communications, and analytical skills. Ability to use complex mathematical calculations. Advanced knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts. Knowledge of relevant computer support systems. Knowledge of programming languages across various software platforms, using DB2, SQL, and/or relational databases. Ability to analyze data results, determine the source of aberrant statistics, and resolve data issues.

Required Software and Tools

Microsoft Office. Knowledge of tools such as Visual Basic and Macros useful in automating reporting processes. Preferred Skills and Abilities: Computer programming skills. Negotiation or persuasion skills. Knowledge of ICD9/CPT4 coding. Preferred Software and Other Tools: SAS experience. Work Environment: Typical office environment. Some travel between buildings and out of town.
