Director of Title IX and Equity Compliance

The Director of Title IX and Equity Compliance serves as the College's Title IX Coordinator, the Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity (AA/EO), and the ADA/Section 504 Coordinator. The Director oversees the College's entire Title IX program ensuring compliance with Title IX, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and related anti-discrimination laws. This individual will work collaboratively to develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to address and prevent incidents of sexual misconduct, gender-based discrimination, and other equity-related matters across the college community. This position requires a highly organized, trauma-informed professional with a student-centered approach, capable of managing complex compliance functions while fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for students, faculty, and staff.

Essential Functions:

1. Title IX Case Management and Compliance
  • Serve as the Title IX Coordinator, overseeing all compliance efforts, including case intake, supportive measures, and the resolution process for Title IX-related incidents involving students, faculty, and staff;
  • Partner with the Associate Dean of Campus Life and Deputy Title IX Coordinator to ensure compliance;
  • Ensure fair, impartial, and trauma-informed handling of all reports and cases, maintaining sensitivity and support for all parties involved;
  • Assist Public Safety, Human Resources, Academic Affairs, Community Standards & Accountability, Athletics, IT, Office of Disability Services, and other offices and stakeholders to effectuate compliance with the Civil Rights Act of 1964, AA/EO, ADA/Section 504, Title IX and the Clery Act;
  • Investigate BIRT reports as potential violations of the College's policy;
  • Facilitate supportive measures and remedies to address complaints and identify systemic problems to inform prevention programming;
  • Work with external vendors as needed to ensure compliance efforts are being met;
  • Work with General Counsel to ensure we are legally sound in all decisions being made.

2. Policy Development and Implementation
  • Develop, if needed, and regularly review Title IX and anti-discrimination policies and procedures to ensure alignment with federal and state regulations and best practices;
  • Lead efforts to update policies as needed, staying current on changes in Title IX regulations and other relevant laws.

3. Training and Prevention Initiatives
  • Support the SVPE in the design and implementation of educational programs to prevent sexual misconduct, harassment, and discrimination, focusing on consent, bystander intervention, and reporting protocols;
  • Conduct regular training for students, faculty, and staff on Title IX rights, resources, and responsibilities.

4. Community Collaboration and Outreach
  • Act as a visible, accessible resource for the campus community, promoting awareness of Title IX resources, policies, and reporting mechanisms;
  • Partner with external organizations, such as local advocacy groups and law enforcement, to provide a robust support system for the college community.

5. Data Management, Reporting, and Trend Analysis
  • Maintain all records of cases, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and reporting requirements in Maxient;
  • Provide regular reports to college leadership, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and assessing the impact of prevention and response programs;
  • Track and analyze complaints, assessing and addressing trends in reporting or climate concerns;
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of regular campus climate surveys;
  • Report out on trends, number of reports/complaints, etc. to Executive Team, the President, and as needed for insurance reporting.

6. Committee Oversight and Participation
  • Establish and chair the College's Title IX Steering Committee;
  • Serve on the College's institutional Diversity Committee;
  • Serve on other relevant campus committees as needed.

Additional Functions:
  • Represent the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Belonging as needed;
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the VP of Diversity, Equity, and Belonging.


Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree.
  • A minimum of five to seven years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a variety of individuals and manage highly sensitive and difficult matters.
  • A clear understanding of restorative justice practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in application of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to discrimination and harassment based on a variety of identities, including race, age, national origin, religion, sex, gender, disability, such as the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Affirmative Action, Title IX, Section 504 of the Rehabilitative Act, and ADA., and compliance issues; experience in conflict resolution, investigations, and grievance procedures; demonstrated ability to work with confidential information and manage complex and highly sensitive situations; and experience in developing and presenting workshops.
  • Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity.
  • Experience working in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to follow-up, follow-through, multi-task, set priorities and adhere to deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advance degree in relevant field or Juris Doctorate.
  • Student Affairs background.
  • Trained or certified in trauma-informed practices.
  • Robust understanding of issues of sexual violence, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment and the unique ways they impact college students.
  • Experience with social media.
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in Title IX compliance.
  • Experience in a higher education institution.

Salary Range:

$100,000 to $110,000 annually
