Location: Norfolk, MA - MCI Norfolk. Will also provide support to MCIF Victim Impact/BAU and MCI Shirley Victim Impact.

Pay rate: $54,000 annually. Salary differential is paid to those who are fluent in the Spanish language.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm with possible evening shift, based on program needs

A victim-centered Restorative Justice Program designed to increase awareness of the impact of victimization, encourage positive behavioral changes within oneself, within the inmate's families and within their communities. The curriculum for this program should include, but not be limited to storytelling, reading, deep introspection, self-evaluation, conflict resolution within oneself and with others, and acceptance. The goal of this program is to empower and motivate inmates through understanding the impacts of their actions on victim/survivors, to learn to be more present in the moment, and engage in pro-social behaviors.

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree or equivalent experience in criminal justice, human services, education, or closely related field required.
  • DOC experience and CADC or LADC preferred.



The Victim Impact Program Counselor is responsible for:



  • Assessing and evaluating inmate needs.
  • Monitoring inmate compliance with all program and Massachusetts Department of Correction (MA DOC) rules and regulations.
  • Facilitating classes and group sessions as defined by curriculum and according to Spectrum Health Systems standards.
  • Maintaining records in accordance with Spectrum and MA DOC policies and procedures.
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary treatment planning, case reviews, conferences and other meetings as directed.
  • Providing case management services as assigned.
