Summary Objective:

Pilates Reformer Instructors are responsible for creating a positive Pilates experience under the Pilates Director or General Manager and with the support of the Pilates Team. This experience includes teaching classes that exceed member, guest, and prospect expectations.

Essential Functions:



  • Deliver the ultimate fitness experience to every member, every time
  • Create a positive atmosphere and motivate members to reach their goals
  • Teach safe and effective classes in accordance with industry standards
  • Promote club activities and programs and represent the club, staff, and company in a positive manner


Job Responsibilities:



  • Be available to members to answer questions and help them get their sessions, paid and scheduled
  • Conduct at least five demo sessions per month, or as required
  • Ensure members' sessions are paid, scheduled, and redeemed correctly prior to the session
  • Maintain class statistics and records as directed
  • Track time and follow payroll procedures
  • Follow substitution policies and minimize use of subs
  • Attend all mandatory department and club meetings and trainings
  • Maintain required certification and complete continuing education
  • Replace equipment after class and keep the studio clean and organized
  • Report safety issues or injuries to Pilates Director and/or General Manager
  • Report any equipment or studio issues to Pilates Director and/or General Manager
  • Attend peer instructor classes at least twice monthly
  • Assume other duties as assigned
  • Work early morning, evening and weekend hours when required


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to quickly acquire and apply new knowledge and skills
  • Ability to speak clearly and effectively when teaching and demonstrating techniques


Required Experience, Education & Certifications:



  • Nationally recognized Pilates certification from a US Fitness accepted provider
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Must have a current Pilates Reformer Certification from one of the following providers: Balanced Body, Polestar Pilates Education, PHI or Stott Comprehensive Matwork & Reformer CMR recognized credential
  • Must be up to date on continuing education and/or membership
  • Experience teaching group fitness classes and/or personal training preferred but not required

Relocation: Candidates outside of the specified area are welcome to apply but if selected for an interview, they must be willing to travel at own cost. Relocation assistance is not offered.
