Overview

Manages time and attendance systems and reports and T&A point and recording and record keeping for 300-400 teammates. Processes payroll T&A for assigned departments, implements and processes all incentives/special payouts, and serves as primary contact for issues related to payroll, T&A, and paycheck questions. Enters staffing data in current staffing/scheduling system used by the organization.

Major Responsibilities

  • Manages the time and attendance system for assigned cost centers.
  • Participates in the development, update and revision of T&A guidelines, special payout guidelines, and hospital/corporate policies related to T&A and pay practices.
  • Adjusts the scheduled staffing to actual staffing based on daily staffing sheets in the current staffing system as needed.
  • Serves as front line responder for all questions related to payroll, T&A, and paycheck questions.
  • Works collaboratively with VPs and department directors on issues related to budgeting, pay policies, T&A issues and special projects.
  • Assists Payroll and HR with issue identification and problem solving related to pay practices and consistency across departments of application of policies.
  • Troubleshoots all issues/questions related to T&A to appropriate resolution related to hospital policy or refers employee to appropriate department for resolution.
  • Demonstrates accountability for personal continuing education/self-learning needs by attending conferences/ seminars/in-services, researching topics of personal interest, reading professional journals, presenting at conferences, publishing and research, etc.
  • Develop personal and professional goals.
  • Engage in self-evaluation/self-care appropriate action plan.
  • Role model commitment to continuous learning by achieving 2 education hours/ year in addition to mandated educational requirements (on own time if necessary).
  • Participates in department and hospital committees as appropriate.
  • Utilizes effective communication skills to including active listening, assertiveness, tact and diplomacy.
  • Exhibits non-judgmental demeanor which conveys respect and appreciation of others.
  • Establishes effective interpersonal relationships with other disciplines.
  • Shares expertise of specialty as appropriate across the enterprise.

Minimum Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

Minimum two years of related experience.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Must have excellent communications and personal computer skills. Must be able to type at least 50 wpm.

Organization skills; detail-oriented

Problem solving skills

Self-starter and ability to work in a fast-paced environment


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Must be able to use visual acuity to see monitor screen, computer and hard copy materials. Must be able to hear and verbally communicate in person and over the phone or radio. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time (up to 2 hours). Must be able to comprehend and learn operation of various office equipment. Must have functional range of motion of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines, upper and lower
