Senior Tax Analyst

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Tax Analyst to lead critical income tax functions, including compliance, provisions, and process improvements. This role will focus on preparing and reviewing federal, state, and local tax filings while ensuring compliance with ASC 740 standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate income tax and a proactive approach to solving complex tax challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review corporate income and franchise tax returns, including federal, state, and local filings.
  • Manage quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, maintaining schedules for tax rates, deferred balances, and reserves.
  • Reconcile monthly tax accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Calculate and review quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Research complex tax issues and prepare detailed reports to support management decision-making.
  • Collaborate with audit teams to address findings and incorporate adjustments into future filings.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficiencies in compliance workflows.
  • Maintain and enhance documentation for tax department procedures and processes.
  • Work closely with external consultants and internal teams on tax projects and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of corporate income tax experience in a large corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Expertise in ASC 740 and income tax provisions.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance, including experience with multi-state filings.
  • Proficiency in tax software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and present findings to stakeholders.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
