Summary of Job Duties:A Lab Support Technician plays a crucial role in assisting with the daily operations and maintenance of laboratory facilities. They ensure that the lab environment is safe, organized, and equipped with the necessary tools and supplies. The responsibilities typically include preparing lab materials, maintaining laboratory equipment, assisting researchers and scientists, and performing routine checks on instruments. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Formal Educational Equivalent
  • 4 years of experience working in clinical laboratory

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous reference lab experience
  • DOT/IOTA Certification

  • Additional Information:

    • Prepares, maintains, and performs function checks on analyzers, laboratory equipment, and automation equipment.
    • Assists with Quality Assurance (QA) projects. Completes Safety Intelligence reports for the Core Lab Manager.
    • Provides technical information about specimen collection, sample transport, sample identification, required documents, test methods and other related technical information to registered nurses, physicians, and laboratory clients.
    • Ensures all laboratory policies and procedures are followed. Addresses all patient/specimen problems as needed and consults with the Laboratory Lead Technician, Supervisor, or Pathologist for guidance.
    • Receives patient samples and conducts analysis of biological samples. Uses laboratory computer systems to order tests, generate results, generate reports, track and retrieve specimens and document communications.
    • Maintains and orders core lab general stock.
    • Performs other duties as needed.
