About the Job

The University of Minnesota School of Public Health's Cannabis Research Center is seeking individuals to collect data for a research study of local business practices. This is a temporary hourly position lasting approximately 4 months with the potential to be renewed. Weekend and evening hours may be required. Data Collectors will record and ensure accuracy of the data gathered from field observations and carefully follow the study protocol for conducting field observations.

Data Collectors will work approximately 15 hours per week, on average. Mileage reimbursement will be covered by the School of Public Health. Data Collectors will conduct the observations in teams, and will be sent out primarily in the evening hours (approximately 3 pm-8 pm).

Job Duties

  • Conduct field data collection following the study protocol (90%)
  • Debrief/answer questions about observations with study team members (5%)
  • Complete University/study training requirements (5%)

Pay for this position is $20/hour.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Age is a key component of this study. Data Collectors must be age 21 or older, but appear to be under the age of 21. After submitting an application, prospective Data Collectors will be invited to a pre-interview audition at the School of Public Health to ensure that they meet this age requirement.
  • Must demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and attention to detail.
  • Must own a smartphone.
  • Must be able to problem solve in a way that complies with study protocol.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
  • Must be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Must be a US citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous data collection preferred but not required
  • A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, current car insurance, and pass a driving record check.
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $20 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
