Job Overview

This position is responsible for full performance complex work administering day-to-day operations of infrastructure systems, services, data systems and storage environments. Duties include designing, configuring, and maintaining the performance, availability, capacity, and security of operating systems, client systems, servers and storage systems, and enterprise platforms, managing system backups and restores, troubleshooting, and documenting procedures, processes, and policies. This position may perform lead work over lower level staff.

Additional Position Details:

PeopleSoft System Administration:

  • Experience managing and administering PeopleSoft environments (HR and FSCM)
  • Familiarity with PeopleTools 8.60+ (latest release) and newer versions
  • Proficiency with PeopleCode, Application Designer, and configuration tools in the latest versions
  • Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) (latest PUM image, such as PUM 40+)
  • Managing and applying PUM Images for updates and fixes
  • Expertise in PeopleSoft Interaction Hub (if applicable) and recent features

Database Management:

  • Experience with Oracle Database 19c or higher (preferred for PeopleSoft environments)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL queries and database administration specific to PeopleSoft
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Data Mover and Data Migration tools for new PeopleTools versions

PeopleSoft Patching and Upgrades:

  • Ability to manage PeopleTools upgrades, patching, and application bundles in PeopleTools 8.60+
  • Expertise in PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) for managing patches and applying the latest updates (e.g., PUM 40 or higher)
  • Knowledge of the Change Assistant tool for applying PUM and managing PeopleTools updates

PeopleSoft Security Administration:

  • Expertise in the latest PeopleSoft security model in PeopleTools 8.60+ (roles, permission lists, user profiles)
  • Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft's security auditing, user access control, and system monitoring tools in the latest versions

Performance Tuning:

  • Expertise in performance tuning for PeopleTools 8.60+, PeopleSoft applications, and web servers
  • Familiarity with the latest tools and techniques for database, application, and server performance tuning
  • Knowledge of performance metrics and monitoring features introduced in the latest versions of PeopleTools and PUM

PeopleSoft Integration:

  • Experience with the latest PeopleSoft Integration Broker and Integration Framework (IFW) tools
  • Expertise in integrating with external systems via Web Services and REST APIs (supported in recent PeopleTools versions)
  • Familiarity with Elastic Search (introduced in recent PeopleTools versions) for advanced data searching and indexing

Backup and Recovery:

  • Experience with backup strategies specific to the latest PeopleSoft versions, including cloud-based solutions
  • Strong knowledge of recovery strategies for PeopleTools 8.60+ environments and PUM-related backups

Scripting & Automation:

  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Shell, Python, or PowerShell to automate tasks in the PeopleSoft environment
  • Ability to automate PeopleSoft environment deployments, monitoring, and PUM-related processes

Problem-Solving:

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to new PeopleTools and PUM features
  • Analytical skills to identify and resolve performance or system configuration issues in PeopleTools 8.60+

Communication:

  • Strong communication skills to work with both technical teams and end-users regarding PUM updates and PeopleTools version changes
  • Ability to explain new features in PeopleTools 8.60+ and PUM updates to non-technical stakeholders

Project Management:

  • Ability to manage PeopleTools and PUM upgrade projects, including coordinating testing, patching, and deployment schedules
  • Familiarity with upgrade paths from older versions to the latest PeopleTools 8.60+

Collaboration:

  • Teamwork skills to collaborate with developers, business analysts, and vendors on PeopleTools upgrades and PUM implementations
  • Ability to collaborate on the testing and deployment of new features in the latest versions of PeopleTools and PeopleSoft modules

Attention to Detail:

  • High attention to detail when dealing with complex configurations, particularly with PUM patch management and new PeopleTools features

Adaptability:

  • Ability to adapt to new features in PeopleTools 8.60+, PUM, and other PeopleSoft technologies
  • Willingness to learn and quickly adopt the latest patches and features released in PeopleTools 8.60+ and PUM Images
Additional Information

Department: Business Applications Services
Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, work hours may vary based on the needs of the department. This role does also require on-call rotation.

*This position has potential to be fully remote if applicant is located within CHCO hiring region.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree is required.
  • EXPERIENCE - Minimum of five (5) years of related experience is required.
  • EQUIVALENCY - Combination of post-high school education, job related certification, and/or related experience equivalent to nine (9) years may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
  • Previous PeopleSoft experience strongly preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

  • Leads the day-to-day operational support and data integrity for computer operating systems, server environments (both private and public cloud), data storage systems, enterprise imaging, email system, enterprise development platforms, data integration, data backup and recovery systems, application/desktop delivery, directory services and data access security.
  • Designs, installs, configures, administers and maintains operating systems, client systems, servers, and storage environments.
  • Oversees and participates in the testing, implementation, maintenance, documentation, and development of operations and maintenance procedures.
  • Executes complex enterprise system functional and technical designs, capacity planning, and implementation.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains data interfaces and the interface engine that manipulates the interface messages in production and non-production environments.
  • Plans and performs complex software installations/deployments and upgrades to operating systems and multi-tiered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades.
  • Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance, availability, and capacity levels. Implements and manages software and hardware solutions to ensure client systems and server data integrity and security. Participates in capacity planning.
  • Schedules and implements system backups, restores, and database archive operations. Ensures data and media recoverability. Supports media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services.
  • Actively collaborates with information technology staff, project managers and end users to gather, develop and implement customer requirements.
  • Creates and maintains processes, policies and procedures in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database library of all supporting documentation. Develops training and documentation for Tier 1 support staff.
  • Conducts routine hardware and software audits of client systems and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Supports and collaborates in the development of ITIL processes including change, incident, and problem management. Conducts RCAs following significant service incidents.
  • Troubleshoots system failures and problems and provides technical support. Engages customers and vendors to ensure problem resolution.
  • Participates in vendor and technology selection. Collaborates with other teams to develop plans and budgets for future upgrades.
  • Operationally manages infrastructure projects
  • Participates in on-call responsibilities.
  • Expands technology knowledge through personal learning and growth. May share new knowledge through on-site presentations and "lunch-and-learn" sessions.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $94,871.97 to $142,307.96
Hourly Salary Range: $45.61 to $68.42
