The opportunity

As the Program Manager you will have overall end-to-end responsibility for complex projects and programs, from shaping the approach to achieve desired outcomes to the delivery of comprehensive solutions for Global Campus Academics. You will oversee several projects and initiatives, requiring you to engage with diverse teams and other important partners throughout the project lifecycle. Each project will be delivered within constraints such as scope, quality, time, and cost, which may be clearly defined or require dynamic change management to provide value. Projects and initiatives that you will find in this role include academic program development and strategic initiatives. Your ability to establish and nurture strong working relationships, communicate effectively, and navigate differing perspectives will be critical in ensuring success. The Academic Program Manager is a trusted advisor to stakeholders and senior executives and is expected to mentor and coach team members while delivering on projects/programs with significant enterprise impact.

In this role, you'll report to the Senior Director of Academic Program Management on the Academic Program Management team within Global Campus Academics. You will also be able to work fully remote.

You'll Get To:

  • Lead and motivate the team to ensure project goals align with our university goals.

  • Establish relationships with all project personnel, including partners, sponsors, and executives. Be a trusted advisor for us.

  • Analyze communication needs and determine communication channels, frequency, and level of detail for all audiences. Ensure quality, accuracy, and integrity of project information and that feedback is received/acted upon.

  • Ensure the relevant business, operational, technical, and financial ramifications of the project are well understood and communicated. Engage appropriate SMEs, partners, and sponsors to maximize value, minimize risks, and costs, and achieve expected benefits realization and successful organizational change following established success metrics.

  • Use the most appropriate project management practices to improve delivery, ensuring that team members are enabled to use the chosen approach, methods, tools, and techniques.

  • Establish work plan and staffing for project activities, iterations, or phases. Assign responsibilities, and scope of authority to project personnel. Function as coach to other program managers, partners, and team members who need assistance regarding project management practices.

  • Identity, scope, and schedule project deliverables, resources, milestones, and required activities and tasks. With a comprehensive approach, monitor all project activities, communicate and remedy trouble spots, examine the value, and benchmark performance to identify improvements and achieve higher capability. Evaluate and deliver project benefits and value; support organizational change.

What we're Looking For:

  • Master's degree required

  • 5+ years of related experience

  • Professional Certification(s) desired: o PMP, PMI/Agile/Scrum certifications such as PMI-ACP, CSM, A-CSM, CSPO, A-CSPO, PSM.

  • Strong knowledge and practical application of project management methodologies (predictive, agile) and software (e.g., MS Project, Azure DevOps, JIRA).

  • Microsoft tools: Teams, SharePoint, Office, Excel (can perform complex functions) , Visio, Power BI

  • Project Management tools: Smartsheet, Concept Draw, MS Project, JIRA, Workfront, Azure DevOps

  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Integration.

  • Organizational Change Management and Value Management methods.

  • ITIL, ITSM, DevOps, Enterprise Architecture, Quality Assurance

  • Analytics, Service Management, Security and Privacy, Data Governance, Compliance * Learning Management, Academic Systems, Student Administration, Finance, HR, CRM/Student Engagement * Accessibility, Design Thinking, User Experience/Client Experience, Value Management.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $68,669.00 - $109,891.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $75,879.00 - $102,659.00.
