Job Description

Oversees the processing and distribution of linen. Carries out duties of laundry washer and laundry utility worker as needed.

Job Responsibility

• Oversees processing and distribution of linen; assists management in assignment of work and scheduling.
• Ensures that safety measures are followed and acts as resource to staff in matters of customer service, operation of equipment, and safety and infection control.
• Performs duties of laundry/utility worker as necessary including collecting, processing, and inspecting soiled laundry.
• Sorts clean linens and prepares for flatwork ironers.
• Delivers supplies to proper floors when necessary.
• Performs washing duties of laundry washer including weighing of laundry to ensure poundage does not exceed standard; maintains accurate records of loads and poundage for reports; applies soaps, detergents, bleaches and other solutions as needed according to specified formulas.
• Performs rough dry processing through proper operation of dryers including setting proper drying time, checking that articles are completely dry before removal, and folding articles for proper storage.
• Operates steamer as necessary.
• Reports equipment failures or malfunctions to supervisor.

Job Qualification

• Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience, required.
