Overview of Position:

Streck is recruiting for a Research and Development Intern to join our Research and Development Team. This position will provide experience to candidates exploring industry science careers and will work within all our different areas in R&D. Primary responsibilities will include supporting experiment set up, running samples, analyzing data, and developing formulas and models to differentiate similar data sets. This is an excellent opportunity to put your technical skills to work in an industry setting.

Learning Objectives & contributions include:



  • Gaining knowledge in areas like:


  • Hematology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Oncology, Immunology, Virology, or clinical research in general.


  • Exposure to other technical areas of industry science beyond the lab bench like:


  • Regulatory (FDA Design Control), Quality Control, Manufacturing, Technology Transfer


  • Support design and conduct experiments, with guidance, within a defined project.


  • Data analysis and interpretation


  • As an employee of Streck, you will actively contribute to the discovery, development, and delivery of our products to our customers.


  • Opportunity to discussyourresearch results at the end of the program.



Requirements include:



  • Junior or senior standing college student, or graduate students pursuing a degree in biochemistry, chemistry, biology, or a related discipline.


  • Knowledge of good laboratory practice.


  • Experience with Excel and data processing.


  • Dependable and organized with demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.


  • Ability to prioritize work to meet scheduled and/or project deadlines.


  • Ability to communicate efficiently with colleagues of differing backgrounds both in scientific and business settings.


  • Ability to think creatively with strong problem solving and strong planning experience.


  • Strong listening skills are necessary.



Work Schedule:



  • 8-hour days - Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm


Dress Code Requirements:



  • Casual - jeans and t-shirt


  • Dedicated Shoes


Pay Per Hour: S3 & S4

Number of Positions Available: Up to 3

Physical and Mental Demands:



  • Medium work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
