About the Position

As a Patrol Analyst within the Court Implementation Unit, you will work with a team and individually to assist the Patrol Bureau complete their management tasks within the time frames found within MCSO policy. This will require the use of various law enforcement databases and work directly in person and via electronic communication with patrol commanders, sergeants and deputies. In addition, you will work on various projects as needed with the purpose of helping MCSO in its endeavor to comply with the Melendres Order.

Position Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Safety Administration, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, any degree related to Data Analytics or a closely related field.

AND

Experience

  • Two (2) years of professional analytical experience.

Combined education and experience qualifications

  • An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year for year basis.

Other requirements

  • Training that may be provided on-the-job: BI Dashboard, Excel, Safety; Law enforcement databases.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license.
  • Prior to hiring, the Sheriff's Office requires that all candidates pass an extensive background review.

Our Preferred Candidate has

  • Sworn law enforcement officer experience.
  • Administrative experience in a law enforcement or corrections environment.

Essential Job Tasks

(This is not an all-inclusive list of all job duties that may be required; employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned. List in order of importance)

  • Prepares reports regarding production status and overall compliance efforts.
  • Responds to inquiries concerning operations, office policies and procedures, and office functions.
  • Develops, edits, and publishes written documents and correspondence as needed.
  • Performs research and analysis on complex departmental issues.
  • Acts as a liaison between units and divisions within MCSO, Maricopa County Attorney's Office (MCAO), MCSO's Legal Counsel, and the Monitor Team.
  • Collects and disseminates data and/or information as requested by the Monitor Team through the document production request process.
  • Schedulesand attends meetings involving relevant parties to ensure appropriate transfer of information, and acts as a liaison for communication.
  • Ensures the completion of all document production requests and adheres to time sensitive deadlines.
  • Supports the implementation of and compliance with the policies and procedures related to the Orders as set forth by the MCSO.
  • Ensuresthe accuracy and immediate dissemination of all changes referenced to the Federal Court Orders to front-line personnel and verifies the appropriate completion of related job functions.
  • Maintains annual training requirements.
  • Bepresent at work site to perform tasks as scheduled and/or assigned by the Lieutenant or ranking chain of command.

Working conditions:
Work occurs primarily indoors. Tasks require managing complicated tasks under time pressures with a high degree of accuracy and concentration. Position requires teamwork, ethical conduct and a professional demeanor.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

The Maricopa County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates considered to be the most highly qualified. Those selected will be assessed based on the evaluation of listed education and experience. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a list provided by Human Resources.

All offers of employment made to new hires and rehires at Maricopa County are contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer, pre-employment thorough background investigation. A background investigation is conducted on a current employee who changes to a Safety Sensitive Position or one having the potential for serious adverse impact on the integrity or efficiency of the County. These requirements do not pertain to employees of elected officials who undergo background investigation processes administered through their respective offices.

Typically, successful candidates are hired at a salary rate up to the midpoint of the range, based on relevant experience, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
