A high level of accountability and coordination, along with a focus on relationships and willingness to travel regularly to other established locations during the early months of this role will be key components to success.

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to help us manage projects efficiently to maximize business results. As a Trex Electrical Engineer, you will be looked to as an innovator in the manufacturing process and expected to drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities to increase operational efficiencies This role is a key member of our Project Engineering team.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Put safety first - Always!
  • Lead and foster our "people first" culture.
  • Support cross-functional teams to deliver strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Prepares and distributes a description and timeline of the project.
  • Creates project plans and harnesses resources to ensure project milestones are met within timeline, quality, and budget constraints.
  • A basic understanding of manufacturing processes and can contribute to the development of new manufacturing processes using logical reasoning.
  • Use sound project management tools and processes to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Manage project expenses, including capital expense forecasting and purchase orders with vendors.
  • Liaise between process engineers, vendors and contractors for quotation, scheduling, design and installation of equipment.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Ability to develop electrical drawings through AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Strong understanding of industrial power systems and how to develop plans from spec'ing a transformer through to wiring a motor.
  • Strong understanding of controls systems, specifications, wiring, and installation. Programming not a requirement, but a plus.
  • Strong understanding of drives and motor starters.
  • Strong understanding of NEC and other pertinent NFPA requirements for industrial control applications.

EXPERIENCE

We are looking for individuals with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with experience (years of experience requirements are listed below) in the design/build field for industrial electrical, required. We want to hear from you if you have previous experience as an Electrical Engineer.



  • Electrical Engineer I:

    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering plus 1-2 years of experience in a design/build field for industrial electrical, required.
    • Working knowledge of problem-solving techniques, required.
    • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, required.
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, preferred.


  • Electrical Engineer II:

    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering plus 3-6 years of experience in a design/build field for industrial electrical, required.
    • Working knowledge of problem-solving techniques, required.
    • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, required.
    • Prior experience in manufacturing or chemical process operations, preferred.
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, preferred.


  • Electrical Engineer III:

    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering plus 7+ years of experience in a design/build field for industrial electrical, required.
    • Prior experience in manufacturing or chemical process operations, required.
    • Working knowledge of problem-solving techniques, required.
    • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, required.
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, required.

SALARY



  • Electrical Engineer I: Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually.
  • Engineer Engineer II: Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 annually.
  • Electrical Engineer III: Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 annually.


The salary range provided serves as a general guideline for potential compensation for this position. It reflects the base salary and does not account for other benefits or additional compensation opportunities that may apply. This role is also eligible for further compensation through an annual/sales bonus, in addition to the base salary.

At Trex, individual base salaries are determined based on various factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. We are committed to maintaining pay equity and consider the internal equity of our existing team members when finalizing compensation offers.
