Electrical Assembler needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to work in Amityville, NY.

SOC is seeking Electronic Assemblers to join our assembly line team. We're looking for dedicated individuals who always show up for work on time and who thrive in a team-oriented environment. Successful candidates will have some prior experience in electrical assembly and be capable of reading blueprints and schematics correctly.

Qualifications


  • A minimum of eight years directly related experience.
  • Perform complex wiring and assembly operation to production standards.
  • Skilled in the area of assembly and soldering processes related to both PTH (Plated-Thru Hole) and SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Printed Circuit Boards.
  • Work with and assist technical personnel such as Methods Analysts, Engineering, etc. in working out practical problems in relation to their work assignments.
  • Set-up and operate all applicable equipment to productive capacity.
  • Provide training and assistance to Assemblers of lesser skill levels
  • Record and maintain data as required.
  • Ability to work from drawings, operation sheets and verbal instruction.
  • Must possess the knowledge and capability of applying those techniques necessary to perform the applicable electrical assembly operations.
  • Must be capable of continuity checks.
  • Ability to work from drawings, operation sheets, assembly procedures, material specifications and processes, and verbal instructions.
  • Must have knowledge of IPC-610 and J-STD-001 standards
  • Must have extensive knowledge of all assembly skills from lead forming, adhesive/coating applications, tooling operations and rework and repair.
  • Good knowledge of the soldering process, which include proper technique, machine maintenance and calibration routines.
  • Must possess and apply the knowledge and techniques necessary to the manufacture electronic assemblies.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of microelectronic assembly processes
  • Experience with wire bonding, ball bonding and wedge bonding
  • Ability to work with extremely small devices using a microscope
  • Experience with automatic microelectronic assembly equipment, epoxy dispenser, pick and place and automatic ball bonder
