The Director of Product & Software Engineering will be a key leader responsible for setting the strategic direction and driving the development of Databank's customer portal, internal ERP, and automation platforms. Reporting directly to the CTO, this role will ensure our products deliver exceptional value, superior user experience, and world-class reliability. The Director will align cross-functional teams around a cohesive roadmap designed to achieve business objectives while crafting elegant applications our customers and internal stakeholders love to use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Leadership: Oversee the entire product lifecycle-from strategic planning and concept validation to development, release, and ongoing enhancement-for Databank's core platforms (customer portal, ERP, automation systems).
  • Cross-Functional Team Management: Directly lead and mentor Product Owners, UI/UX designers, Business Analysts, and Scrum Masters to ensure cohesive and effective product delivery.
  • Technical Domain Expertise: Leverage deep technical knowledge of cloud, colocation, DCIM, BMS, and physical access technologies to guide architectural decisions, platform design, and technology investments.
  • Strategic Road Mapping: Define and maintain a unified product roadmap that addresses evolving market needs, aligns with business objectives, and sets clear priorities for features and enhancements over an 18-month horizon.
  • User-Centric Design: Champion a human-centered approach to product development, ensuring UI/UX is intuitive, accessible, and resonates with diverse user personas-both external customers and internal teams.
  • Agile Execution & Maturity: Lead agile product management processes-including Program Increments (PIs), sprints, and continuous iteration-while tracking KPIs, measuring velocity, and driving process improvements to maximize resource utilization.
  • Innovation & Thought Leadership: Promote forward-thinking strategies in data center, cloud, and related technologies, fostering a culture of continuous innovation and team growth.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with Operations, Technical Operations, Account Management, and Customer Success teams to support customer satisfaction initiatives, gather user feedback, and ensure solutions meet current and future needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of Product Owners, UI/UX designers, Business Analysts, and Scrum Masters.
  • Provide clear direction, performance management, and professional development opportunities for your team.

Qualifications:

  • Industry Expertise: Proven experience in data center, cloud, colocation, DCIM, BMS, and physical access technologies.
  • Product Management Experience: Extensive track record in product management roles, including managing product lifecycles and achieving ROI targets.
  • Agile Methodology & Tools: Familiarity with agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe), tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence), and best practices for incremental delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and work effectively across matrixed organizations.
  • Technical & Business Acumen: Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling business value propositions and communicate them to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • UI/UX Focus: Experience guiding UI/UX teams to create intuitive, visually appealing solutions and deliver outstanding user experiences.
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Capable of defining meaningful KPIs, interpreting data-driven insights, and adapting product strategies to maximize market impact.
  • Leadership & Team Building: Skilled in mentoring and managing high-performing teams, fostering professional growth and strong team dynamics.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in product management, engineering leadership, or similar roles, ideally within data center, cloud, or related infrastructure environments.
  • Experience leading platform modernization efforts and familiarity with ERP, BSS/OSS platforms, or similar enterprise solutions.
  • Fluent in agile frameworks-your backlog is always ready for its close-up.
