Overview

The purpose of this job is to train to assist borrowers within low to moderate and majority-minority census tracts with lending products to encourage applications.



Responsibilities

    Assist with promoting community lending loans, products, and activities within specified census tracts
  • Work with local, state, and Federal Agencies, non-profits in the creation of products and services designed for the low to moderate income borrowers
  • Originate and promote Trustmark's Community Lending Loans and Products
  • Facilitate the application process via phone or internet
  • Provide support in coordinating community events that educate and promote home ownership.
  • Master the skills needed for originating and promoting Trustmark's Community Lending Loans and Products. Study guidelines and show initiative to learn independently
  • Support the overall community lending effort with courtesy calls, thank you notes, conducting sales and event planning activities etc.
  • Coordinate loan closings with attorneys and closing agents
  • Other duties as advised by Management to provide sales and service support to customers and referral sources
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 4-year college graduate, with 3.0 or higher
    -OR-
    Minimum of 3 years in previous customer service, marketing, mortgage lending or other related experience
  • Ability to work and identify with a diverse group of borrowers, housing related entities and other community-based organizations
  • Working knowledge of financial compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Ability and willingness to stay abreast of changes throughout the community and industry
  • Analytical skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Expertise in communicating effectively with the public
  • Marketing/Public relations education or real estate lending knowledge
  • Outside sales or lead generation knowledge
  • Ability to quickly adapt to software/systems
  • Ability to interact with diplomacy and courtesy
  • Excellent grammar and writing expertise

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
