Job Summary and Responsibilities

SUMMARY:

The OSP Project Manager II is responsible for the management of complex project teams across multiple jobs providing contracted services to customers (e.g., OSP Design FTTx, site acquisition, Aerial and Underground Construction services, land use planning, zoning, and permitting). The Project Manager II's role is to ensure the project is completed according to mutually agreed upon timeline and within budget of customer and KGPCo policies and procedures. Responsible for the management and coordination of team members in obtaining and maintaining all documents related to modification, collocation, construction, and FTTx programs. The Project Manager II will be responsible for the most complex and sizeable OSP projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert on the assigned contracts we have executed with our customers.
  • Review Contract and extract SLA's and deliverables to the customer.
  • Create a project schedule from given project parameters.
  • Ensure the project schedule is in line with the financial plan.
  • Review and create billing unit template for all billable items and ensure Invoicing team and OSP groups have clear representation of work activity and how it will be billed to customer and any subcontractors.
  • Partner with the OSP Manager to create a staffing plan that is within budget.
  • Hold project scoping meetings to identify point of contacts for permitting, engineering, and construction.
  • The PM ensures that each KGPCo resource is held accountable for delivering needed updates and delivering against the schedule for the projects they are responsible for.
  • Schedule and lead New Program Onboarding call 30 days prior to market launch.
  • Manage Sub-contractors invoicing.
  • Develops status reports that clearly articulate project progress
  • Designs and deploys repository to store and manage project information
  • Represent the company externally in conversations with key customers and partners.
  • Develop, monitor, and measure quality metrics.
  • Establish a sustainable culture of continuous improvement
  • Works to resolves issues with the contractors, customers, etc.
  • Indirectly oversees the Project Coordinators in providing direction and oversight for the project Act as a resource for more junior Project Managers and be available for training, onboarding, and expertise
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will have direct reports
  • Will directly lead teams of people to achieve the goals of the project

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and/or QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred; and minimum 5 years related OSP experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 3 years of OSP Project Management experience required.
  • Previous experience as an OSP Project Coordinator Preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines and thrive on day to day operational pressure with both excellent managerial expertise and sound people skills
  • Ideal candidates are familiar with all aspects of OSP management
  • Understanding of permit processes, locates and working with municipal agencies and utilities
  • Demonstrated ability to think pro-actively with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proven interpersonal skills and customer focus approach
  • Established organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Able to consistently meet or exceed deadline expectations
  • Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a construction organization with a rapidly expanding customer base
