SUMMARY
Plans the workflow of kitting and directs the mechanical technicians in a manner that optimizes flow of product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Assembles functional parts of enclosures, radiators, generators, and tanks using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges.


  • Plans, assigns, and directs the work of mechanical techs in kitting and on the FWT pad.


  • Completes job travelers, checklists and necessary quality documentation.


  • Facilitates daily morning huddles on assignments, goals/objectives for each day.


  • Plans enclosure, tank, generator, and radiator moves to optimize workflow and production.


  • Confers with managers, engineers, production personnel, project managers, or others to resolve issues. Reports information on employee progress for performance evaluations.


  • Mentors new employees or designates suitable mentor.


  • Evaluates processes for ways to improve quality, tooling usage, and run times.


  • Responsible for sustaining 6S.


  • Recommends safety improvements and enforces safety policies.


  • Reads and understands blueprints.


  • Directs mechanical techs on proper processes and techniques.


  • Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data.


  • Uses forklifts, cranes and other lifting apparatus to aide in the assembly process.


  • May operate welding equipment to cut or weld parts.


  • This is a working lead role.


  • Cleans and organizes work area.



QUALIFICATIONS

LEADPERSONS RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly responsible for 5-10 employees in the kitting area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma/GED, plus three to five years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
