Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of US Medical Affairs to lead the medical team within the IAI (Immunology, Allergy, and Inflammation) Division. This role is integral to advancing our leadership in dermatology and immunology therapeutics. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in these fields and a proven track record of fostering high-performing teams and delivering strategic medical leadership. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing medical team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Develop and execute strategies that align the medical team's goals with organizational objectives and market needs.
- Serve as a key medical leader, inspiring trust and alignment across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
Strategic Medical Leadership
- Define and drive the medical strategy for the IAI division, ensuring scientific rigor and alignment with regulatory and commercial priorities.
- Oversee the development and execution of medical affairs plans to support product launches, lifecycle management, and patient engagement.
- Provide thought leadership on scientific and clinical trends in dermatology and immunology, shaping the strategic direction of the company's portfolio.
External Trust and Credibility:
- Establish and sustain trusted relationships with key external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, policymakers, and scientific communities.
- Act as the primary medical ambassador for the company in the US, reinforcing its commitment to scientific integrity, patient care, and transparency.
- Drive thought leadership through participation in high-profile medical and scientific forums, publications, and industry collaborations.
Focus and Excellence in Execution:
- Strengthen the focus of the US Medical team by identifying and prioritizing key areas that align with the company's mission and stakeholder needs.
- Implement robust processes and systems to ensure the delivery of high-quality medical initiatives and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement within the US Medical team.
Talent and Organizational Development:
- Lead and inspire a high-performing US Medical team, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, and professional growth.
- Assess and adapt the organizational structure to meet evolving business needs and industry dynamics.
- Act as a mentor and coach, building a pipeline of future leaders within the medical organization.
Metrics and Impact Measurement:
- Define clear metrics to measure the impact and success of US Medical initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall organizational objectives.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of medical activities and adjust strategies based on data-driven insights.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, and Market Access teams to ensure medical insights are integrated into product development and commercialization strategies.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and patient advocacy groups, to advance the scientific credibility of the company and its products.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and regulatory discussions.
Compliance & Medical Governance
- Ensure all medical activities comply with regulatory standards, ethical guidelines, and company policies.
- Oversee the preparation and dissemination of scientific data and materials to support clinical decision-making and regulatory submissions.
Qualifications Education & Experience
- MD, in a relevant field; advanced training or specialization in dermatology or immunology is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in medical affairs, clinical development, or related fields within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Demonstrated experience in leading large, diverse teams and driving transformational medical strategies.
