W e are seeking a Process Improvement Intern to learn from a mentor and gain valuable real-world experience in issues that impact LPI business processes, by learning. In this role, you will assist and support process improvement trainings and contribute to process improvement projects, support Team Member innovation programs, and champion Team Member engagement.

This Process Improvement Intern will assist and support Continuous improvement programs, develop and execute future state to optimize material and information flow, lead kaizen events and implement 5S system to organize the workplace.

This internship will take place startingMonday, May 19, 2025 till Friday, August 15, 2025.

Applications will be accepted between December 23, 2024 till January 31, 2025.

The format of this internship will be in person, full-time 40 hours per week. Monday- Friday during normal business hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Assist the organization to identify and implement sustainable improvements to position the company for operational excellence.
  • Build and apply skills in process improvement, project management and group facilitation to achieve project aims aligned with the organizational goals
  • Collaborate with diverse roles to identify inefficiencies, develop solutions and lead improvement initiatives
  • Observe and documenting operational processes in detail (e.g. time studies, process mapping, 7 waste analysis, spaghetti chart, general observations, and feedback from stakeholders)
  • Analyze and deconstructing processes to determine value, identify opportunities and predict effects of potential interventions/process changes
  • Effectively communicating analysis and potential improvements to process owners to initiate and implement sustainable change
  • Assist in the development of operational improvement tools and plans
  • Work with internal customers to identify and implement process and technology changes
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • At least one year towards a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or similar Engineering Degree.



EXPERIENCE



  • Employment, school or personal experience involving mechanical aptitude preferred (IE machine shop).
  • Previous or current internship or co-op intern experience preferred.
  • Interest in and some experience in working Six Sigma processes preferred.
