Position Summary:

The Industrial Engineer Intern role is responsible for identifying and leading the execution of continuous

improvement projects and training to help achieve our mission. The ideal candidate will have a passion

for improving processes alongside the manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities:



  • The intern will work on two product lines to support our Brooklyn Park 2 facility assembly department. The projects would involve efficiency or defect reduction work tied to traditional industrial engineering coursework.
  • The role may incorporate human factors and ergonomic improvements into the project.
  • Support engineers on customer projects
  • Communicate with engineering team as required on development and manufacturing activities.
  • Develop tools and methodologies to execute time studies, line balances, line layouts, and visual management standards.
  • Lead projects to support manufacturing team.
  • Develop management operating system tools and supporting dashboards.
  • Seek out continuous improvement opportunities, weigh their value based on benefit, investment, and risk to prioritize work accordingly.
  • Comply with company, quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures.


Work will be performed onsite at our Brooklyn Park 2 facility

Must Have:



  • In process 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering preferred. Ideal candidate will be in, or entering their Junior or Senior year.
  • Good written communication skills for documenting designs and procedures
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications and illustrations
  • Strong computer skills, including the MS Office suite.
  • Above average oral and written communication skills with in-house technical personnel and outside vendors and customers.


Nice to Have:



  • Power BI knowledge and experience preferred


Position pays $20/hr
