Description

Oversees all aspects of the operation with direct supervision of all warehouse and transportation activities as well as being responsible for the operating performance of the branch. This position is responsible for ensuring safe, cost effective and timely movement of Pet goods. This involves supervising the picking, packing, and shipping of orders and is responsible for training and development of all warehouse and delivery employees. This position assures adequate planning, staffing, equipment needs, procedural compliance, and inventory accuracy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Day to day management of the Operations at the Distribution Center.
  • P&L responsibility.
  • Work with your colleagues to deliver the Distribution Center team KPI's. Understand the KPI's relating to Operations and have action plans in place to deliver them.
  • Create a culture of safety, productivity, and process efficiency where employees are developed and know how their work is evaluated and fits into the big picture.
  • Hire, train, coach, develop & lead the associates in the Operations to deliver the Supply Chain Operational Excellence plan.
  • Supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
  • Actively contribute to the Distribution Center Leadership team by taking ownership of key projects or activities and mobilizing cross-functional team members to deliver the goals
  • Analyzes and monitors productivity of transportation department and oversees D.O.T. compliance.
  • Work directly with vendors partners, logistics carriers, and service providers.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Must have clear, concise, written and oral communication skills. Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong work ethic with a "can do" attitude; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A hands-on, high-energy individual with excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills and possess an extreme attention to detail.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • 7+ years distribution operations management experience overseeing order fulfillment, delivery, safety, inventory control in a sales driven organization. Bachelor's degree is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work is conducted primarily in a warehouse environment.
POSITION INFORMATION
  • This position pays $75,000 - $85,000/ annually depending on experience
