Accounting Specialist

Science Systems and Applications, Inc (SSAI) is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting Team at our Corporate Headquarters in Lanham, MD. The candidate will perform general accounting duties as well as function as our payroll administrator. This position is in person in Lanham, MD.

Required Qualifications:

• BS in Accounting or related field and minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll, accounting, with specific experience using ADP and Deltek Costpoint or similar systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of or familiarity with federal and state payroll regulations and requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft office products, including excellent Excel skills.
• Ability to quickly learn various types of accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
• US Permanent Residency or Citizenship required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience managing audits, including DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) audits.
