Job Description:

The Ground Launch Small Diameter Bomb program is seeking an energetic Senior Program Manager to oversee a dynamic and growing product within the Land Systems Division. As a Senior Program Manager, you must possess good organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and an ability to resolve issues at all levels. The Senior Program Manager is responsible for development and implementation of program management plans, processes, metrics, and tools for key program portfolios as well as coordinating across multiple stakeholders to maximize consistency and implementation of program management best practices.

In this role, you will report to and assist the lead Senior Program Manager with providing tactical direction for program execution and maintain program cadence to ensure contract and company requirements, deliverables, and reporting are met using the approved business model and management tools. You will also be expected to work closely with and influence product teams, functional contributors, and other business units to ensure alignment and consistency through key portfolio initiatives. You will work through various stages of program execution including proposal development and negotiations, program startup, program execution and program closeout.

In addition to the internal responsibilities, you will also interface with customers and partners for various topics to include technical interface meetings, contracts meetings, program management meetings and business growth meetings.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain program management plans, consistent with program requirements and company policies.

  • Identify and implement key program metrics and lead development of situational awareness charts that can be used as management tools by directors and program leadership teams to drive program success.

  • Oversee performance assessment including measurement collection, analysis, and storage working with programs on corrective actions.

  • Ensure timely and effective gate process compliance.

  • Ensure rigorous implementation of risk and opportunity management.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders from USG, and International Partners.

  • Support proposal, negotiations, and startup activities.

  • Support risk and opportunity management.

  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.

Compensation Range: $120,800- $157,700

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:
  • Typically requires BA/BS degree in Engineering, Business or STEM related field and minimum 12 years of relevant experience.

OR

  • MA/MS degree in Engineering, Business or STEM related field and minimum 10 years of experience.

  • Experience with program management tools.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

  • Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

  • Will be assigned to lead complex development Programs.

  • Responsible for the overall execution, cost, schedule, and technical performance of each Program.

  • Acts as primary POC to internal and external customers and possess the skills to guide others on technical design teams.
