LSE Technical Undergraduate Intern

The intern will assist senior mechanical engineers in the design, fabrication, assembly and operation of scale-up or mock-up equipment to simulate facility processes and equipment such as mixing/settling, heat transfer, filtration studies, calibrations and mechanical testing. Tasks may include CAD/design/drawing development, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), ASME code calculations and reviews, valve/pump/piping selection, test equipment assembly, machine shop interface, equipment calibrations and safety reviews. The intern will work with principal investigators and senior staff members to define work scope, develop/update schedules, execute designated work, present results and assist with laboratory tours as needed. Undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
