Applications Performance Engineer - TS/Q - CA Information Technology

Applications Performance Engineer needed for a contract to hire opportunity with SOC's client to work in Livermore, CA.

***US citizenship required: Active TS or Q clearance ***

Responsibilities:

* Porting and optimization of scientific applications

* Providing direct support to developers of complex scientific applications

Qualifications:

* Familiarity with applications, tools, and processes used at DOE HPC laboratories

* A broad and deep understanding of the issues that affect GPU performance, CPU performance, and scaling performance

* Proficiency with performance analysis tools and debuggers

* Proficiency with programming for GPUs

* An understanding of HPC systems architectures and interconnects

* The ability and motivation to quickly learn new skills

* Keen analytical skills and problem-solving ability

* Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

Education and Experience Required:

* A Bachelors degree in physics, chemistry, computer science, applied mathematics, engineering, or other technical field is required (MS or PhD preferred)

* Eligibility to obtain a US DOE security clearance
