Description

The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie has been caring for children throughout the Hudson Valley for over 175 years! We strive to empower children and families to achieve optimal health and well being.

The Recruitment Assistant plays a key role in supporting the recruitment and hiring process by coordinating and executing various administrative and operational tasks. This role involves assisting in job postings, candidate screening, scheduling interviews, maintaining recruitment databases, and providing excellent communication to candidates and hiring managers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:



  • Maintains the applicant tracking systems (ATS) including posting jobs and managing candidates.
  • Contacts viable candidates and conducts phone screening reviewing minimum qualifications and position overview.
  • Assists in scheduling interviews and communicates details to candidates and interviewers.
  • Maintain a relationship with Hiring Managers to ensure accurate and up to date information is related to candidates.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for candidates, providing updates on application status and answering inquiries.
  • Coordinates pre-employment checks, such as reference checks, MVR form and SEL form.
  • Assists in organizing recruitment events, such as job fairs or campus recruitment activities.
  • Conducts onboarding activities upon hire, including introduction to time and attendance system.
  • Participates in regular rotating front desk coverage as well as contributes to additional front desk coverage in the absence of the Receptionist.
  • Adheres to all reporting requirements and participates in preparation for various audits and annual reports as needed.
  • Supports and promotes the agency's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Maintains systems regularly used by Human Resources, including but not limited to, the HRIS system and license monitoring system.
  • Participates in the planning and organization of employee engagement events and programs.



Schedule: Monday-Friday, Business Hours - Minimum of 40 hours

Qualifications

MINIMUM:



  • Associate's Degree in related field or High School Diploma with three or more years of related experience.
  • Must complete and pass a pre-employment physical, PPD and drug screen and an annual physical and PPD.


PREFERRED:



  • SHRM or HRCI Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
