For candidates based in Virginia, this position starts at $26.69/hour, up to $29.16/hour after one year. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Inspects and repairs valves according to the schedule set by the Director of Processing. * Rebuilds valves and has them ready to install by due date. * Works with parts room to make sure parts are in by the time required work on valve is to be done. * Maintains accurate records of when each valve is rebuilt and when it is due to be rebuilt again. * Ensures all valves are clearly identified along with corresponding air lines. * Documents valve replacement procedure and trains others on the rebuild process, if necessary * Areas of responsibility and processes include the following: Receiving, Batching, VTIS, CIP, HTST Education and Experience: * Minimum 1-3 years minimum rebuilding valves required * Minimum 1-3 years working in confines spaces * Forklift experience * Experience in a food manufacturing industry preferred * Experience with MP2 preferred Skills and Competencies: * Adapts to changes in the work environment * Strong written and verbal communication * Exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills * Communicates project changes and progress * Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness Physical Requirements * Standing: Long periods (a minimum of 8+ hours) * Walking: Long periods * Bending: Frequently * Climbing: Frequently * Lifting: Heavy (70+ lbs.) frequently * Carrying: Heavy (40-60 lbs.) frequently distance * Pushing/Pulling: under 75 lbs. without assistance frequently Performance Standards: * Comply with performance criteria, standards of conduct, employment procedures and responsibilities as described in the HP Hood Guidebook and applicable site supplement. * Adhere to all safety and environmental protocols, procedures and training. Maintain a safe work environment at all times and immediately report and take appropriate action to correct safety concerns. * Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices, including GMP dress code standards. * Responsible for reporting to work in a condition to work at scheduled times and communicating tardiness and absences according to the Call-Off Procedure and Attendance Policy. SQF (Safe Quality Food) Requirements/Responsibilities:
* Maintain food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner. * Maintain the master list of documents, the calibration program and the preventative maintenance program. * Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. * Monitoring of incoming services Environmental Concerns: * May be subject to exposure to ingredients used in the manufacture of food products including allergens. * May be subject to exposure to chemicals involved in the manufacture and sanitation of a food processing facility. * May be subject to work in job hazards that include extreme temperatures, system pressures, loud noises and moving parts Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities
