Gulf Coast Medical Center is a Level II Trauma Center, an accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center, and dedicates specialized care to our Critical Care, Oncology, Orthopedic, Colorectal, Vascular and General Surgery service lines. We are looking for clinicians dedicated to providing high-quality comprehensive care for our specialty services lines and who are interested in promoting the growth and development of our Acute Care Therapy Services by collaborating in our unique patient care programs including our Animal Assisted Therapy, Early Activity Initiative, Why Not Home and In House Rehabilitation Programs. Responsible for examining, evaluating and testing individuals with mechanical, physiological and developmental impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities or other health and movement-related conditions in order to determine a diagnosis, prognosis and plan of treatment intervention, and assess the ongoing effects of intervention. The OT is also responsible for alleviating impairments, functional limitations and disabilities by designing, implementing and modifying treatment interventions. Additional responsibilities include reducing the risk of injury, impairment, functional limitation and disability, including the promotion and maintenance of fitness, health and wellness in populations of all ages. The OT will be engaged in administration, consultation, education and research. The OT will be expected to conduct themselves in an effective professional behavior manner. The attributes, characteristics or behaviors required for success in this job include: critical thinking, communication, problem solving, interpersonal skills, responsibility, professionalism, use of constructive feedback, effective use of time and resources, stress management, and commitment to learning. RequirementsEducation: Baccalaureate Degree in Occupational Therapy. Experience: No previous job experience required. Certification: BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support). License: Active Florida State Occupational Therapist Licensure. Other: Staff may be required to rotate to treatment areas, other than their primary designation, as requested by their department leader. This could include a regulated area (Skilled Nursing Facility, Home Health, Rehab Hospital and Pediatrics) that requires Level 2 Background Screening. US:FL:Fort Myers |
