Position Summary The Deburrer Level 1 must be an individual who can adapt to a fast-paced, Sheetmetal shop environment focusing on on-time delivery of parts. This person should have a strong work ethic, is willing to learn and asks questions about manufacturing processes. They will prepare raw material for final surface treatment, remove slag and sharp edges from sheet metal and operate machinery and hand tools to achieve the desired finish. Essential Functions Learn and perform manual deburring operations Remove tabs, slag, rust, and sharp edges as needed Learn to use various shop tools such as orbital sanders, timesavers, fladder, belt sanders, and hand tools at an entry level Handle finished items in a careful manner to prevent damage Maintain a neat and orderly work area Function in a safe and reliable manner to prevent personal injury and/or property damage Wear the proper PPE for the job function being performed Perform other duties as assigned Technical Competencies Ability to learn to read blueprints Ability to learn how to use shop tools Behavioral Competencies Demonstrate motivation and accountability to achieve individual and department goals Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members Demonstrate initiative and personal accountability to meet work demands and work effectively under pressure with supervision Ability to respond and adapt quickly to changing circumstances and facility needs Strong attention to detail and commitment to effectively produce high quality work Demonstrate teamwork by sharing knowledge and helping where needed Education & Professional Experience High school diploma or GED required Experience in manufacturing or prototyping is a plus Entry level position Physical Requirements/Work Environment Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, hand/power tools, etc. and handle and feel parts of various size Ability to bend, kneel, and crouch occasionally throughout the shift Ability to push, pull, or lift 50lbs moderately throughout the workday Ability to focus vision for: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and adjusting to sharp focus Noise conditions can be moderate to extreme.
